An unusual visitor

My cousin and her family came for a visit...this is Bailey's the dog. She is an adorable basset hound.

She pretty much inspected every single square centimeters of the house

The cats were less than impressed :D

Rainbow puppy necklace

As I am not much in the mood to take photos of my Alice collection, here's some shameless self promo of a new item I jast added in my Etsy shop.
Totally one of a kind, totally kawaii, there will be only one. Get it first ;)

Xmas event at the pet rescue

Like every 6 months, it was time to visit my favorite pet rescue again. Les Petits Vieux rescues older unwanted pets...mostly cats and dogs but they also have some goats and  poneys . You can see my post from last year here

I had 4 assistants while having lunch :)

Yes, you may rub my belly

This one is Cassis, I carried him around in my arms for a (long) while. He reminds me so much of my Pikachu. Well, if Pikachu had not been scaredy cat...

This is Cassis ' s brother (I don't remember his name)

By the sea

Baileys
This year I spent my birthday weekend by the sea. It was unexpected and pretty dreamy! My cousin and her children and their doggie were there too.

Our bungalow is on the right, the blue /grey building.
We stayed in a bungalow by the sea in Le Crotoy in the Baie de Somme in France. The weather was amazingly good, which I imagine doesn't happen that often there. The resort also had a pool, I didn't take photos but I went swimming :)

View from our terrace

It was pretty amazing to wake up to this...

There are still many Art Nouveau houses in Le Crotoy
Le Crotoy is a quiet little town, I guess it's busier during high season. There still are many Art Nouveau houses there, but most look pretty abandoned. I hope they were not bought by big companies hoping to destroy them once they're beyond repair...

A smiling dog

It was simply amazing and wonderful and perfect to go for a walk on the beach at sunset.

Wednesday favorites ...on Thursday

Yes, I know it is Thursday...but the  weather has been incredibly nice and warm so I spent a lot of time in the garden...and not so much browsing the internet this week...
So what did I like this week...
It was actually so warm even  in the evenings that I did some star gazing ....I saw a shooting star too *_*  This is a  starry locket handprinted by locketfox on Etsy. This constellation is Aquarius, it is not my star sign but it is the constellation I like best.
One of my favorite blogs ever! I keep checking it several times a day even though it is updated only once a week or so ;) Plumdog Blog by Emma Chichester Clark is one of the cutest things you can see on the www. If the style is familiar (tell me I am not the only one into children books) it is because Emma is also behind the Blue Kangooroo children book series. She also illustrated a version of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass . Yeah, OK, I am a fan :D

I also played with the cats a lot, made some custom orders, finished my first guerilla gardening session of the year, cooked a lot... I guess I accidentally switched to summer mode a bit early...

Wednesday favorites: one of my favorite places, a Pet Rescue

A different pick today. A pet rescue I visit twice a year. It is called Les Petits Vieux (The little old guys). The people there rescue mostly old cats and dogs (and other animals) that people abandon or  leave behind when they go to retirement homes or die. Once there the animals stay there until their natural death.

This is the cats area, a large enclosed field with wooden shelters...insulated, heated shelters. There are about 100 cats there. Most of them are cuddly so it is fun to sit on a chair and cuddle them...endlessly...

Yes, I am cat too, why do you ask?

Yes, we are cats too.

The dogs are in another area. The "house" part. There are many galgos rescued from the Spanish death tracks, some dogs were rescued from puppy mills. They are all rather chubby now ;)

It is extremely fun to sit there and cuddle some dogs for a change!

My, my, this is a nice smelling knee...
