They are rose gold toned, with copper metallic accent. Simple but lovely.

I am not very happy with  the photos as for some reasons the lack of light makes it look like the black background is dusty :/  I'll have to re-shoot at some point.

Bugs

 Strangely my view of insects (and spiders) has shifted 180° as I grew older. From being terrified of them (you should have seen me running from a fly or a ladybug when I was litte) I now really like them. I think they are pretty and fascinating...except maybe from cockroaches which are still a little bit disgusting...(sorry, cockroaches...)

The real Alice and Lewis Carroll - new items!

As you probably know, Alice in Wonderland  was a real little girl. Lewis Carroll who, on top of being a teacher, mathematician and writer, was also a photographer. We therefore have photos of her and himself.

Lewis Carroll was one of the first photographers, when it was still an expensive and time consuming hobby. He was very popular among famous people and royalties of his time.

By the time he took photos of Alice, exposition time had dropped down to about a minute (from over an hour a few years earlier)

But it was still quite an achievement to have little kids stay still for a whole minute.

 I have discovered this really cute jewelry shop on Etsy. Manolojewellery  is based in Spain and has the prettiest wooden items.

 How cool is this coat? I 'd usually go for more colorful items but I really love this one, simple and yet original. Checked coat with wool by Marks and Spencer.

 I am into tassels and big earrings these days, so this is a perfect combo for me. Boho tassel earrings by MotorandTea on Etsy.

Prototypes

I had been playing with the idea of using the Captain Cosmos (aka the cat with the tinfoil helmet) in jewelry for a while. I was not sure how to go about it...so the idea was on my to-do list for a long time.
Finally all came together in my head...and it was time for prototypes.

Necklace prototype

First problem encountered, I hate making my own glass cabochons ...well mainly I hate cutting the paper...cutting one or two round shapes is OK...but having to do it 100 times (or more)....brrrrrr
Fortunately one of my suppliers accepts custom order for those, so problem solved (other than the money part that is...)

Then I decided I need bigger star beads for the earrings ...and I am still looking for those. I also want to make brooches, plugs and clip earrings.
I still haven't decided if I wanted dangles on the plug and clip earring version ...maybe both?
Also those are 25mm cabochons, would they work as 12mm too?

But the biggest problem is taking photos...as you can see here, taking photos of dark shiny things is ARghhhhhhHHhh.
And maybe I need to edit the art itself too...maybe add some contrast to the cat's chin so it blends less into his costume?

Well, anyway, I am hoping to launch the Captain Cosmos line at the end of October...

I have not been good at updating the blog lately...it's just I have been super busy making and creating new stuff...so much  stuff that I have actually hurt my left thumb.
I have already listed part of the new batch...but there are over 100 items still waiting to be photographed and listed. Fortunately I can do that without hurting myself further ;)

Another shirt I love on Dawanda. The whole shop, THOKKTHOKK ORGANIC CLOTHING,
 is super too...they also have shirts for males (gift ideas...). I like the stripes and color combo of this one. Added to my wishlist!

Let's get in the mood for Christmas with those irresistible holly cookie earrings by PetitPlat. If you don't know her work yet (you must have been living in a cave) check her shop right now! She is the queen of food miniatures!

The mushroom furniture set in Animal Crossing New Leaf. I got that Nintendo game for my birthday back in June and I am addicted. If you're not familiar with the game, in short, you're the mayor of a cute little town and you can buy/collect (among zillions of other things) furniture sets to put in your house. The sets change with season and holidays. This is the fall set. I was completely stoked when I found my first mushroom piece!

I have told you already about my Mothman obsession here and now MaidenVoyageClothing, who made my cool cryptozoology shirt, is also making patches. This one is my fav of course, but I like the whole set too. I might need them sooner or later. Have no idea what to sew them on yet though.

A bunny...I have a slight obsession with bunnies too. OK, to be exact this is a baby hare made by TheLeveretsNest. They make the cutest things...and you always need a bunny baby hare.
