Compost bin

FINALLY! I had been wanting to make my own compost for a long time. In the last few months I have been reading a lot about composting. My mom was always opposed to the idea, saying it stinks, it's gross...just stereotypes of someone who's never looked into the topic really.
So after lots of thinking I opted for a recycled plastic bin with a bottom opening. I also needed one with a lid so the cats don't go check what's inside.
It's been up for less than a week so I can't really tell how well it goes so far.
Right now I am very enthusiastic, I put in it every little single scrap of food/paper/plant that can go into it ...every 5 minutes ;)

This one reminded me a little of a Dalek : EXTERMINATE TRASH!

Diego inspecting
Pepita checking what's Diego inspecting
But she had already inspected when I installed it ;)

We're using a composter and it's great to be able to produce our own compost! Saves a lot of money and ist very helpful for gardening!

Yaaay! wonderful! I'd love to have a composter, but we have no gardens. There is a home-version with worms but apparently it gets yucky quickly, so well.
I wish they had public composter here.

Cool. If I ever have a garden I will definitelly use one too. And the cats are so cute.

I actually also want to do this, but my mother has the same argument. Need to check if there are such things here. Yours also reminded me of a darek :)

Composters are great! My parents have one at their cottage. Here in the city the food waste goes to a biogas-facility.

That's so cool! Never taught about using food waste to make a compost(probably because this goes directly to the domestic animals and their manure is used for it). Unfortunately here in the city there isn't even a recycling plan for paper or plastic :(.
