In France and Belgium Epiphany Day ( the Celebration of the 3 Wise Men) in early January is celebrated with a special cake (the King Cake or Galette des rois) in which a little item called "fève" (bean, as originally the item was an uncooked bean) is hidden. The person who gets the "fève" is king or queen for a day.
The tradition dates back to Ancient Rome ...for more info, check
Wikipedia ;)
Fèves are highly collectibles so it's not surprising that they made Alice and Disney ones.

The Queen and King of Hearts |
This porcelain set is from 1997. It was made by Arguydal.
Every few years they make a new version. I sure would like the gold and platinum edition with an Alice holding Dinah :)

Awesome!!
Anna Alice is one of my favorite themes. I love it. I would definately buy a set like that if I found it in a vintage shop.
Oh! I would have loved to have found a figure like that in my cake. Not a tradition we have in Sweden. Too bad.
Seeing your incredible collection, I might end up an Alice themed sculpture at some point :D
These are adorable!
I would love to see your cabinets where you keep all this in on display, I am guessing a cabinet as you have cats :)
They are so much fun, especially the caterpillar! Great collectible items!
Nice tradition! We don't celebrate any kings here :P and we don't have any surprise cakes either ! Maybe that's why we love Kinder Surprise so much :)) PS: did Kinder ever had a Alice inspired collection?
So adorable!
Stunning collection!
