Longing for the sea...

It's the end of winter and I am already longing for summer and the seaside. Then again, I don't often get to go even when it's summer.
This time of year makes me very  nostalgic of things long gone...

Bob the Martian

Do you sometimes have very vivid dreams, dreams of plans and ideas that seem completely logical and rational, ideas that feel so awesome that you wonder why no one ever thought of them before?
And of course, once you're awake those genius idea are at best very weird...
This is how this blog post came about.
One evening last week, my cat Bob Mega Kitten wouldn't come back inside. At midnight I gave up trying to get him back  and went to bed. Usually I don't fall asleep right away and I just thought I'd get up later to try to lure him back inside again.
Well, I fell asleep right away.
And Bob was stuck on Mars...all alone, without air and without food. I could see him in his little space suit, begging to come back home behind the living room bay window.
I could read his mind and know he was planning to plant potatoes...and then realize that he doesn't even eat potatoes. And Bob became the Scream by Munch.

And all along, I kept thinking it would make a great series of blog posts, the Adventures of Bob stranded on Mars...
And at 4 am I woke up with a start and Bob was waiting at the window. He jumped inside, cuddled against me and we both fell asleep.

By the sea

Baileys
This year I spent my birthday weekend by the sea. It was unexpected and pretty dreamy! My cousin and her children and their doggie were there too.

Our bungalow is on the right, the blue /grey building.
We stayed in a bungalow by the sea in Le Crotoy in the Baie de Somme in France. The weather was amazingly good, which I imagine doesn't happen that often there. The resort also had a pool, I didn't take photos but I went swimming :)

It was pretty amazing to wake up to this...

There are still many Art Nouveau houses in Le Crotoy
Le Crotoy is a quiet little town, I guess it's busier during high season. There still are many Art Nouveau houses there, but most look pretty abandoned. I hope they were not bought by big companies hoping to destroy them once they're beyond repair...

It was simply amazing and wonderful and perfect to go for a walk on the beach at sunset.

Wednesday favorites - home makeover edition

Pip Studio, one of my favorite brands ever, started making floor tiles *_* Budget allowing, I could see my whole house tiled with those. Check the entire dream catalogue here. The online shop is here.

I guess the cats would be more interested in the following items...

Goldtatze (golden paws) is a German company specializing in clever cat furniture and entertainment units for our felines. I can totally picture having little cat bridges and UFOs (sort of little ceiling nests) all over the house.

And since we're dreaming, I wouldn't mind this incredible canopy bed. Euromillion win required ><  It is made by Lummedesigns in Finland. They have an Etsy shop too.

But I'll settle for this adorable Poäng chair by Ikea...and maybe I'll go crazy and get the matching foot stool too. I have had my eyes on that ever since this model came out...one day it shall be mine! (hopefully sooner than later)
