As I am not much in the mood to take photos of my Alice collection, here's some shameless self promo of a new item I jast added in my Etsy shop.
Totally one of a kind, totally kawaii, there will be only one. Get it first ;)

Prototypes

I had been playing with the idea of using the Captain Cosmos (aka the cat with the tinfoil helmet) in jewelry for a while. I was not sure how to go about it...so the idea was on my to-do list for a long time.
Finally all came together in my head...and it was time for prototypes.

Necklace prototype

First problem encountered, I hate making my own glass cabochons ...well mainly I hate cutting the paper...cutting one or two round shapes is OK...but having to do it 100 times (or more)....brrrrrr
Fortunately one of my suppliers accepts custom order for those, so problem solved (other than the money part that is...)

Then I decided I need bigger star beads for the earrings ...and I am still looking for those. I also want to make brooches, plugs and clip earrings.
I still haven't decided if I wanted dangles on the plug and clip earring version ...maybe both?
Also those are 25mm cabochons, would they work as 12mm too?

But the biggest problem is taking photos...as you can see here, taking photos of dark shiny things is ARghhhhhhHHhh.
And maybe I need to edit the art itself too...maybe add some contrast to the cat's chin so it blends less into his costume?

Well, anyway, I am hoping to launch the Captain Cosmos line at the end of October...

New things galore

I have not been good at updating the blog lately...it's just I have been super busy making and creating new stuff...so much  stuff that I have actually hurt my left thumb.
I have already listed part of the new batch...but there are over 100 items still waiting to be photographed and listed. Fortunately I can do that without hurting myself further ;)

All the new items are available in my 3 shops : Etsy  Alittlemarket Dawanda

Wednesday favorites

A cardboard cuckoo clock...how cute and fun! It is by hellopetie on Dawanda. It is a real clock but the pine cones don't move and the bird doesn't tweet...which would be a good thing in my book as I am not too keen on high pitched noises...nor any noises in general.
Terry the triceratops embroidery art by Accidentalvix on Etsy. Really the type of things I like...in a restaurant in London I saw some amazing needlepoint works of dinos...I could start a collection...dino needle art ^_^

A dino print SILK dress by Emma Cook on Asos.Out of budget even on sale...sadly...

The 12 Doctors if Tim Burton had drawn them...amazing work by Michael the Pure on Deviant Art.

A mighty cute cat bag by Muchacha available on Ebay and other places on the web. I already own a tiny Muchacha purse...so cute...so perfect. I might have to buy this bag...

A bunny rabbit spring necklace...by me (shameless self promo here). One of my fav in all the items I've made so far. I wear  this a lot these days :) Available in my 4 shops. Etsy, Dawanda, Alittlemarket and Storenvy.
I also have a mushroom version if you are weird and like mushrooms better than bunnies ;)
And it could be yours for free if you enter my giveaway which ends on Monday!!!! Win $50 (or 36 euros) in any of my shops!

Wednesday favorites

A cat portrait necklace by FlowerLandShop. Yeah, I know I have already featured that shop...But those kitties are so cool, I keep going back to the shop to look at them.

A cat illustration by Inameliart. I love it. I'll have it on my wall soon.

I want that view from my bedroom. On the other hand, I'd just sit there and do nothing...and eventually wither away from starvation... That view is yours for a measly $19.500 per month here. *sighs*

This is simply amazing...it looks straight out of a Miyazaki movie *_* It is the "Neverwas Haul, a self-propelled 3-story Victorian House, made from 75% recycled equipment and materials" . More photos and amazingness on this site.
Back down to reality with this pretty rain jacket. Photos don't do it justice. It is  really nice pinkish red coated cotton. Details are really neat. By MSmode. I'd sew a few patches on that one...

A cool ombre Totoro pillow by Canispicta.

What I wore and other things...

As much as I love blogging it seems I can only do it when I am happy and carefree...and that doesn't seem to happen much these days. Weeks ago I prepared an outfit post...I used to love to do that...on Live Journal...last one dates 5 years back... *cringing*...so here it finally is!

A pretty subdued outfit for me. I fell in love with that shirt design from MaidenVoyageClothing. I love supernatural and paranormal stories, so this is right up my alley. (It even has a little Mothman, I am obsessed with the Mothman Prophecies by John Keel). I'll probably be getting this shirt in brown too...and possibly some other very cool designs like the Octopus and the airship. Oh, and another thing making this cryptozoology super cool, it GLOWS IN THE DARK. Really!
The shoes are by Crocs, no surprise there. At the beginning of summer they had them is super cute coral and aqua color too, sadly those sold out pretty quickly :'(

Shirt by Maiden Voyage Clothing
Khaki skirt by H&M (old)
Necklace by me :) Still available here
Ultra comfy sandals by Crocs
